Our Story

Benny Sagredo, driven by a passion for authentic cuisine and inspired by his mother's recipes, founded El Famous Burrito in 1985. As a family-owned and operated business, Benny shared his love for cooking with his daughters, ensuring the legacy continues. In a community lacking genuine Mexican food, Benny created a beloved restaurant that quickly gained a reputation for its delicious dishes and welcoming atmosphere.

El Famous Burrito has become a staple in the Chicagoland area, expanding to multiple locations while staying true to its roots. From Rogers Park to Tinley Park, the Sagredo family's hard work keeps the tradition alive. The restaurant offers an inclusive menu that highlights traditional flavors, ensuring each dish is prepared with the same care as when it first opened. Today, Benny's daughter, Isabel, is re-opening the Summit location where it all started.

The vibrant decor, featuring neon accents and a cozy, rustic setting, adds to the inviting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, from flavorful tacos to refreshing drinks, all crafted with authenticity and dedication.
